The importance and necessity of EEG examination

With the rapid development of brain electrical technology, the number of scalp electrodes has been extended to up to 128, the monitoring time is extended to a few hours to a few days, but also to the seizure process to complete the video record, that is, multi lead long video EEG, to provide comprehensive information for doctors, such as brain.

1, the diagnosis of epilepsy:
Some diseases, such as apnea, movement disorders, syncope, arrhythmia, sleep disorders, migraine, and various neurological disorders, such as the performance of similar seizures, multi lead long video EEG examination, make an accurate diagnosis.
2, determine the type of seizure:
According to the analysis of long range video EEG, to help doctors determine the type of epileptic seizures and different epilepsy syndrome, choose the right treatment plan.
3. Evaluate the therapeutic effect of anti epileptic drugs:
Video EEG can be used as an evaluation of the effect of drug treatment, there is no clinical or non seizure and the guidance of the patients are not free to reduce drug withdrawal and so on.
4, looking for accurate "cause of epilepsy foci":
Surgical treatment is the premise to find the origin of seizures in the brain caused by the site, referred to as the focal seizures". When the patient's seizure is difficult to control, it needs surgical treatment. The EEG is one of the important methods to evaluate the brain lesion.
5, guiding surgical treatment:
In surgery, we performed a "induced epileptic focus" by real-time monitoring, assisting and guiding the surgeon.
